This spiral dental implant is designed for exceptional primary stability and predictable osseointegration, making it suitable for immediate loading and traditional two-stage protocols. Its tapered, root-form design allows for effortless insertion, while the self-tapping and self-cutting threads optimize surgical flexibility across various bone conditions.

Featuring micro rings at the neck, this implant enhances shear strength at the crestal zone while platform switching preserves bone height and soft tissue levels for long-term aesthetic and functional success. The dual-threaded spiral structure improves load distribution, ensuring high stability even in compromised bone.

    RBM Surface Treatment:

RBM Surface Treatment Technology transforms implant surfaces into a rough, hydrophilic texture designed for enhanced osseointegration. This advanced process roughens the implant surface without leaving behind any residual blast particles or debris. To achieve the optimal roughness, each implant is blasted with hardened particles such as Hydroxyapatite—including beta-Tricalcium Phosphate, Alpha TCP, and TTCP—as well as Calcium Phosphate (CPP). A subsequent, precise passivation treatment removes these particles, consistently reaching a surface roughness of Ra 1.2 to 1.5.

This method results in a rougher surface compared to traditional acid etching, which means a greater surface area for improved bone integration, enhanced retention, and superior biological fixation. Additionally, the implant is engineered for easy handling and secure placement, further boosting osseointegration and expediting the healing process. The RBM surface treatment not only promotes robust tissue growth around the implant but also ensures long-term stability without the risk of delamination or disintegration.

FAQs
What clinical indications is this implant ideal for?
The RBM Surface Spiral Implant is specifically designed for demanding clinical situations where primary stability is essential. Because of its aggressive thread pattern and tapered body, it performs exceptionally well in cases involving immediate implant placement after tooth extraction, particularly in soft bone scenarios such as the posterior maxilla. It’s also highly recommended for immediate loading protocols, where a temporary crown or bridge is placed right after surgery. Additionally, its self-tapping, bone-condensing nature makes it a strong candidate for flapless and minimally invasive procedures. Whether you're dealing with narrow ridges or compromised bone quality, this implant is built to deliver reliable performance and predictable outcomes.
How does the spiral-threaded body improve performance?
The implant’s spiral-threaded body plays a critical role in ensuring successful integration, especially when primary stability is a concern. Its dual-lead threads allow for quicker insertion while maximizing surface contact with the bone. What sets it apart is the way it simultaneously cuts and condenses bone during placement, leading to higher insertion torque and better mechanical retention. This geometry helps to evenly distribute functional loads, reducing stress concentrations that can lead to bone resorption. As a result, clinicians can expect excellent stability even in Type III and IV bone, making it a smart choice for a broad range of implant procedures.
How does the RBM surface enhance osseointegration?
The RBM (Resorbable Blast Media) surface is specifically engineered to encourage faster and stronger bone bonding. This surface treatment involves blasting the implant with biocompatible materials like hydroxyapatite and calcium phosphate, which are later dissolved, leaving behind a clean, micro-textured surface with an ideal roughness (Ra 1.2–1.5) for osseointegration. This texture mimics natural bone, allowing osteoblasts to attach and multiply more effectively. Importantly, the RBM process leaves no embedded particles behind, eliminating concerns about contamination. The result is a surface that facilitates early bone healing and long-term integration, which is especially important for immediate load protocols and cases requiring quick recovery.
Does the implant support platform switching?
Yes, this implant fully supports platform switching, which is an essential feature for preserving crestal bone and maintaining soft tissue stability over time. Platform switching occurs when a narrower abutment is used on a wider implant platform, effectively moving the implant-abutment junction inward, away from the bone margin. This design helps to minimize the micro-movements and microbial leakage that are often responsible for marginal bone loss. Since the implant is BioHorizons® Internal Hex compatible, it accommodates a wide range of platform-switching abutments, healing caps, and prosthetic components that many clinicians already have in their armamentarium, making it a flexible and clinically advantageous solution.
What advantages do the coronal micro-rings provide?
The implant's coronal micro-rings offer several biomechanical and biological benefits. Located near the neck of the implant, these shallow grooves help to reduce stress at the crestal bone level by increasing surface contact and distributing load more evenly across the cortical bone. This is particularly beneficial for maintaining marginal bone levels, which is crucial for long-term implant success and esthetic outcomes. Additionally, these rings enhance the mechanical lock into the cortical plate, improving stability in both dense and soft bone situations. Over time, this design helps maintain bone height and supports soft tissue contours, contributing to healthy peri-implant tissues and natural-looking restorations.
Is this implant compatible with my BioHorizons® surgical kit?
Absolutely. This implant is designed to be fully compatible with the BioHorizons® Internal Hex system, meaning you can use it with existing surgical kits, drivers, drills, and prosthetic components. For clinicians who are already familiar with the BioHorizons® protocol, this compatibility eliminates the need to invest in new tools or learn new workflows. You can stick to the surgical sequence and restorative techniques you're comfortable with while still benefiting from a high-quality, cost-effective alternative implant. It’s ideal for streamlining inventory and maintaining consistency in your clinical procedures.
What kind of cases has this implant succeeded in clinically?
We’ve successfully used this implant in a wide range of real clinical cases with excellent results. In one example, a 5 mm diameter implant was placed immediately after molar extraction in the posterior mandible, achieving a torque of over 45 Ncm and allowing for immediate loading with a provisional crown. In another case involving a full-arch maxillary restoration, six implants were placed using a flapless approach and loaded with a screw-retained provisional within 48 hours. All implants remained stable and showed less than 0.2 mm of crestal bone loss after one year. These cases highlight the implant’s ability to perform reliably in time-sensitive and esthetically demanding scenarios.
How do I ensure correct placement and torque during insertion?
Proper placement begins with careful osteotomy preparation. We recommend slightly undersizing the final drill relative to the implant diameter to take full advantage of its self-tapping, bone-condensing design. This is particularly useful in soft bone, where compressing the bone walls can significantly increase primary stability. During insertion, you’ll feel increasing resistance as the implant engages the bone, typically resulting in torque values between 35 and 45 Ncm. It’s essential to monitor this torque to ensure it meets your clinical thresholds for immediate or early loading. Always use sharp, well-maintained drills and copious irrigation to avoid thermal damage to the bone, which can compromise osseointegration.
